I love writing in my journal. With a slightly nicer paper and my favorite fountain pen in hand, it's strange how simply using paper and ink can bring such a sense of calm to my mind.

Slowly, I recall the events of the day. The joyful moments, the things that made me happy. The uncomfortable instances, the feelings of sadness. I write them down, savoring each one as if I were reliving them.

To savor that day, that moment. To feel the flow of time within me, rather than the ticking of the clock.

On my desk, I watch the gentle smoke of incense drift through the light. It's something I just want to gaze at endlessly. To think that there are things in this world that are beautiful for no reason at all—it almost brought tears to my eyes.

Here's the English translation:

"The title piece, which recalls the narrator's deceased father on a night when the opera arias echoed from the Fenice Theatre in Venice, and 'The Path Katia Walked,' where the narrator reunites with a German friend from university after 30 years in France. This collection weaves together various episodes involving people who appeared in the narrator's life and then disappeared, all expressed in beautiful prose, creating a nostalgic tapestry of twelve stories."
